Wednesday: Thymed lamb stuffed mushrooms in tomato sauce followed by Sex and the City dessert

Encouraged by my flatmate Nikki, I made a use of four huge mushrooms, which were living in my fridge for the past week with no purpose. Preparation took mere 20 min, main secret is to do everything at once (something men are not very capable of apparently) and chop enough garlic and onion for the tomato sauce and minced lamb stuffing. It is also worth mentioning/confessing, that I am certainly not a "thrown few things from the fridge together and voila - it works!" kind of person, I don't do that. This was a very safe experiment,and I can guarantee it will taste good.. if you like lamb. So I would like to dedicate it to all lamb meat lovers who sleep on the pillows made out of lamb chops!

4 big mushrooms (more curled up edges, better)

300g minced lamb

1 can of chopped tomatoes

4 fresh tomatoes

1 onion

half cup of breadcrumbs

2-3 garlic cloves

few thyme sprigs

a little bit of French Brie or Parmeggiano

salt, pepper

Chop the garlic and onion finely (leave 1/3 on the side for minced lamb!) and fry till golden in the Pan Nr. 1. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper and half tea spoon of sugar. Cook on the medium heat for about 8 - 10 min stirring occassionaly. Add chopped fresh tomatoes and cook for another 5 min.

Meanwhile take Pan Nr. 2 and fry the rest of the onion and garlic, add lamb mince and thyme sprigs, cook for 4-5 min. Bit of salt and pepper goes in too. Mix in some of the tomato sauce and stirr the stuffing well.

Take a baking tray (better if it's quite deep) and poor your tomato sauce in. Generously stuff the mushrooms with lamb stuffing and sit them on the top of the tomato sauce. Cover each mushroom with breadcrumbs.

Bake for 20 min, at the end add a slice of Brie of Parmeggiano shavings.

P.S. serves 2 hungry eaters, don't forget some salad on the side!

I've noticed that I cannot just like something. The interest quickly fades away or it instantly grows to an innocuous case of obssesion. It feels as if I had a strict invisible advisers - one on each shoulder. Whatever it is - an author or director, a band or a brand - if for some usually complicated reason it cought my interest, I need to know everything. Only if I manage to reach the essence, the rudiment and my mind will store it, it will become precious part of me, even an additional layer to the lense I see the world through.

I started reading it while on holiday and got competely sucked in. Liberating and brilliantly written.

When I forget or choose not to buy Adbusters magazine, Vogue sneakily slips into my grocery basket. I like to flick through its pages as seven year old likes chunky potatoe wedges. Eat it and forget about it untill the next time. It is beautiful because it is transient,in fact so transient it is barely worth speaking about.
Some temporary things are worth to be registered though:
Objects which you can't help but notice all the time, book you come back to again and again, trainers you "approve", song you've been listening to since you were ugly teenage duck.
Things that turn and twist your personality when you let them in and allow them stay.
